Breaking The Cycle of Homelessness
Empowering Long Island’s Veterans and families to function independently for generations to come.
Homelessness is a challenge for thousands of Veterans, parents, and children on Long Island.
Mary was supporting a family of five on her minimum wage job and bouncing between relatives’ homes. With New Ground’s help, within 5 years Mary earned a college degree, started a career with a good salary, got out of debt, improved her credit score, and helped her children move through school successfully. She and her children recently moved into a market-rate apartment and now have the tools to remain self sufficient.
