Educational Advocacy
We stress the importance of education, both for the parent and their children. As a result, we employ a full-time Education Advocate that assists our families. We provide educational/reading assessments when needed, access to psychological testing and advocacy to empower parents and children to individually reach their full academic potential. The goal is to give the participants the technical and emotional support they need to succeed. Many of the children and adults in our program are challenged academically. This can be caused by unstable home situations, low self-esteem, poor attendance and frequent changes in school systems. New Ground provides professional tutors, educational testing and enrichment programs for both the parents and children.
