HERE ARE SOME OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR VETERANS AND FAMILIES:
VOLUNTEERING AT NEW GROUND
We can always use your help to do this important work! Please contact us directly to learn more about how you can make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Volunteer opportunities include tutoring, committee participation, event participation, clerical assistance, and more.
IN KIND DONATIONS
New Ground accepts donations of various types of household and food items to defray the necessary costs in our families’ and Veterans’ budgets while providing assistance in all that they might need. Our Wish List includes the following:
- Food Pantry: Pasta, jarred tomato sauce, dried beans, rice, cereal, juice, children’s snacks, cake mixes, peanut butter, jelly, condiments, mac N’ cheese, canned goods
- Hygiene items: soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors, toilet paper, tissues
- Household cleaning: laundry detergent, kitchen and bathroom cleaners, bleach, sponges, paper towel, dish soap
- School supplies: marble notebooks, 3- and 5- subject notebooks, pens, pencils, glue, scissors, index cards, hand sanitizer, rulers, pocket folders
There are many opportunities to make a difference in your community. New Ground works with local schools and student groups to coordinate drives to benefit those we serve and offer volunteer opportunities.
ORGANIZE A DRIVE
First decide on what you will be collecting: food, hygiene items, household cleaning supplies or other everyday items. Then coordinate with your classmates, coworkers, neighbors and family to collect the items that will go directly to New Ground children, parents and veterans.
